When your Wyze Cam detects motion or sound, it starts recording a 12-second video that is stored in the cloud.
If you have a microSD card then you have even more options for storing and recording video.

To view an Event video:
- In the Wyze app, tap Events.
- Tap on a specific video to play the event video.
- OR If you receive a push notification for the event, tap on the notification.
- This will launch the Wyze app and open the video immediately.
To filter your Event videos:
You may only want to view specific types of videos, or those from specific cameras. To do this:
- In the Wyze app, tap Events.
- Tap the funnel icon on the top right.
- On the Filter screen, tap the details you want to include.
- Under Cameras, tap each device you want to see videos from.
- If a camera is not selected, you will see no videos from it.
- Under Contains, tap the details your videos must include.
- Note: Details like Pet and Vehicle Detection are only available with Cam Plus. Without Cam Plus, your videos cannot be filtered by these options.
- Under Triggered By, tap the action that triggered the event.
- Motion: Movement was detected.
- Sound: Audio noise, or an alarm sound, was detected.
- Under Cameras, tap each device you want to see videos from.
- Tap Show Results.
Automations
An automation is an event triggered by a Rule. If you create a Rule to "Upload a short video to the cloud" at a specific time from a specific camera, an Automation event video will be created once that time has passed. Automation events cannot be filtered on the Events screen.
To share or download an Event video:
- In the Wyze app, tap Events.
- Tap on the event video you want to share or download.
- Tap on the video again to bring up the Share and Download icons.
- To download your video, tap the down arrow icon

- The video will save to your phone or tablet's gallery.
- To share your video, tap right arrow icon

- Choose an option in the Share menu.
- To download your video, tap the down arrow icon
Additional Notes
- All Wyze cameras include free 14-day cloud storage for 12-second event videos.
- Event videos are store in the AWS cloud via end-to-end encryption.
- Event videos can be viewed for up to 14 days in the Wyze app. After 14 days, event videos are deleted and cannot be recovered.
- Event videos have a 5 minute cooldown period between 12-second videos.
- This means that if constant motion is detected, the camera will record 12-second video every 5 minutes.
- Signed up for Cam Plus? There is no cooldown period!
