Night Vision is not working

Problem:

Viewing the Live Stream with Night Vision enabled isn't working properly; the setting doesn't turn on.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Check if Night Vision is enabled.

  1. Open the Live Stream for your Wyze Cam Outdoor.
  2. Cycle Night Vision mode. Tap the moon icon through AutoNVAuto.png, OnNVOn.png, and OffNVOff.png.
  3. Tap again to turn Night Vision mode to OnNVOn.png again. If Night Vision still does not work as expected, continue below.

Power cycle the camera.

  1. Use the switch at the back of the camera to turn off the camera.
  2. Wait 5-10 seconds, then turn it back on again.
  3. Check the Live Stream again to see if Night Vision is working as expected. If it does not, continue below.

Check if the IR lights are turned off.

If Night Vision is enabled, and the image looks black and white while the room's lights are turned on (or while the sun is up), but looks completely black in the dark, this could be a sign that the IR lights are simply turned off.

  1. Open the Live Stream for your Wyze Cam Outdoor.
  2. Tap the Settings icon SettingsGear.png, then Advanced Settings.
  3. Tap the toggle next to Night Vision IR Lights so that it's on.
  4. Return to the Live Stream. If Night Vision still does not work as expected, continue below.

Reposition the camera as needed.

  1. Move the camera so that the lens is not facing streetlights, glares, or under direct light.
  2. Return to the Live Stream and cycle the Night Vision Mode again.
